2. How to Make Money with Amazon as a Business: Sell on Amazon Business
You can sell B2B, or business-to-business, on Amazon.
So instead of selling single cardigans, or books, or Lego sets to an individual, you’re (ideally) selling bigger amounts of things to a business.
The cost to sell on Amazon Business is $39.99/month plus selling fees.
Instead of setting up an Amazon seller profile as an individual, you would set up a business profile. This is where you would include certifications, credentials, and testimonials that would make your business stand out to potential customers.
As an Amazon Business Seller, you have extra features like the ability to add your logo, enhanced analytics for sales, and pricing customization tools.
You can accept requests for quotes, and all the usual things someone might want to do if you had your own website. But by selling on Amazon business, you’re leveraging their enormous customer base.
Here are some numbers if you like those (source):
- Their customers include 80+ of Fortune 100 companies
- $25 Billion in worldwide annual sales reached
- $1.2 Trillion forecasted 2022 online B2B ecommerce opportunity size
I mean, what? I can barely think to billions. Trillions are just such a crazy amount.
But anyways, there is clearly lots of opportunity to sell on Amazon Business if that is the route you want to go to make money with Amazon.

3. Sell Apps on Amazon
You can create apps and sell them on Amazon through Amazon Developer.
If you are techy, or you hire someone to make an app for you (you can even find people on Fiverr to do this for you), you can list and sell it on Amazon.
You have to sign up for an Amazon Developer account (you can do that here)
This gives you a huge marketplace for your apps, and you can also sell your apps internationally through Amazon.

4. Become an Amazon Affiliate
It is really easy to become an Amazon Affiliate.
That doesn’t mean it’s easy to STAY an Amazon Affiliate, or make lots of money as one.
You can apply to be an affiliate here. You have to fill out some basic information, including where you plan on promoting Amazon products and sharing links. They ask you to include the urls you will be using, so a blog, Facebook page, Facebook group, Instagram, etc.
Amazon is much more particular with its affiliate rules than a lot of other affiliate programs.
You need to read the rules very carefully, and make sure you abide by them or you can be kicked out (and this does happen).
Another thing is you have to make at least three qualified (meaning not to your mom of bff) sales within 180 days of being approved into the Amazon Affiliates program.
The pluses of becoming an Amazon Affiliate are many.
Amazon sells absolutely everything, so no many what your niche is or what your community could use, they’ll have a link for it.
Amazon is trusted, so people are more likely to buy from them if they click through from your site.
5. How to Make Money with Amazon on Social Media: Become an Amazon Influencer
Though almost anyone can become an Amazon affiliate, there are stricter requirements to become an Amazon Influencer.
Amazon looks at the number of followers you have on social media platforms, as well as your engagement and other metrics.
It’s a quick check here to see if you are even eligible to apply. You choose the social media platform where you have the most followers/likes, connect it, and you get your answer right away.
If you don’t have enough of a community yet, you’ll get this message:
Thank you for applying!
We appreciate your interest in Amazon Influencer Program. Unfortunately, your account does not meet the eligibility requirements at this time.
It doesn’t say so on the Amazon Influencer application page, but I remember a couple years ago when I looked into it, seeing that they wanted at least 10,000 followers on a single platform.
If that’s you, you can apply and create curated Amazon shop pages for your followers.
While you can’t use Amazon affiliate links in emails (that’s one of their no-nos), you can link to your Amazon Influencer pages in an email. They can have good conversions.

6. Advertise Your Products
You can make money with Amazon by paying for advertising of your listed product on Amazon.
This shows up at the top of the page on Amazon searches as “sponsored”, and as we know, the higher up on whatever the page, the better.
You can advertise your products on Amazon as an Individual seller or a Professional seller. You will get access to comprehensive analytics to track the performance of your ads.
There is also the option to advertise products you sell that are not on the Amazon platform.
- Display ads
- Video ads
- Custom ads
- Audio ads
Amazon states that the turn-around time for creating and optimizing ads is faster than on other platforms. You can start with as little as $10 USD a day for your ads budget.
You can apply to be a registered advertiser on Amazon here.
7. Self-Publish with Amazon
You can make money with Amazon by self-publishing eBooks and paperback books.
With so many options for self-publishing and selling, it’s never been a better time to be an author.
The Amazon platform that helps you do this is Kindle Direct Publishing.
These are some of the popular categories on Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP):
- Business & Investing
- Comics & Graphic Novels
- KDP Kids
- Kindle Vella (where you can share a series, one short story at a time)
- Literature & Fiction
- Mystery, Thriller & Suspense
- Science Fiction & Fantasy
- Teens & Young Adult
It’s a super fast process to start selling your book or eBook. It takes about 5 minutes to publish your book and it will be available to purchase on Kindle within 72 hours.
KDP is not just for digital books either, you can also publish paperbacks for free.
You can earn up to 70% royalty on your book sales.

8. How to Make Money with Amazon Passively: Host an Amazon Hub
You can make money with Amazon by hosting an Amazon Hub.
When you are buying something from Amazon, on the payment page you enter your address, OR you can choose to pick up your package at an Amazon Hub.
By hosting an Amazon Hub, you provide a secure place (a Locker) for Amazon customers to pick up (or drop off) their Amazon parcels.
This is all self-service, meaning almost no effort on the part of the Amazon Hub Locker host.
The Amazon customer gets an unlock code sent to them in an email, which will work to unlock and retrieve their parcels.
There are obviously strict rules on who/where can host an Amazon Hub. You can’t, for example, set up an Amazon Hub on your front lawn and call it a day.
You have to have a business, and have space for an Amazon Locker. The huge benefit to your business is the added foot traffic, whether you have a bookstore, café, bakery, or something else.
9. Make Money with Amazon Handmade
Move over Etsy!
Actually don’t, I love Etsy. (This is my Etsy shop if you’d like to check it out – I dabble.)
But there is another huge marketplace to sell your handmade-with-love goods and that is on Amazon Handmade.
As for fees, Amazon Handmade doesn’t charge you to make a shop and list your items. You only pay a fee when you make a sale, and it’s 12.24% of the product price.
In contrast, you pay a fee each time you list a product on Etsy, but the transaction fee is lower than on Amazon Handmade.
According to sellers, it can take up to a few weeks to get approved by Amazon Handmade, depending on their backlog.
These are the categories you can sell on Amazon Handmade:
- Beauty & Personal Care
- Shoes & Handbags
- Outdoor & Home Care
- Jewelry & Watches
- Kitchen & Dining
- Pet Supplies
- Sporting Goods
- Stationery & Party Supplies
- Toys & Games

10. Deliver Amazon Packages
Do you like making people happy, and do you enjoy driving?
You might want to consider making money with Amazon by being a Prime driver.
You can even start a business as an Amazon Delivery Service Partner, where you would be in charge of multiple contractor drivers.
According to Amazon, Amazon Delivery Service Partners with 20-40 delivery vans can earn $1M to $4.5M a year.
For an easier entry point to delivering Amazon packages, you can apply to work for Amazon Flex.
Most Amazon drivers earn between $18-$25 an hour.
For Amazon Flex, you use your own vehicle to deliver packages for Amazon.
You can apply online to be an Amazon Flex driver, or download the Amazon Flex app.
Flex pays in hourly blocks. Once you sign up, you choose the blocks you want, do those deliveries, and get paid. When you schedule a block, you will know the end time and how much you will be paid, so there will be no surprises.
The Final Word on How to Make Money with Amazon
There really are so many more ways to make money with Amazon than most people realize.
Most of us automatically think of selling products on Amazon.
Or we might picture those blue/gray Amazon Prime vans spreading happiness and boxes through the neighborhood, and consider delivering Amazon packages.
But as you’ve seen, there is also selling on Amazon Handmade, becoming an Amazon Affiliate or Influencer, and even getting paid to be a drop-off location for other people’s Amazon parcels.
If you’re interested in making money with Amazon, you should be able to find an option here that suits your interests, skills, etc.
To your success with Amazon!
