Pinterest tips for business – why use Pinterest for your business?

If your business isn’t already on Pinterest, you need to set up an account asap.

Pinterest is not just a way to save fun recipes that you want to make later. Pinterest is NOT a social network like Facebook and Instagram. It is a visual search engine, and one of the largest sources of (so far still) FREE traffic, similar to Google.

There are 300 million people on Pinterest – a staggering number.

Don’t let this source of free traffic pass your business by. You can sign up for a (free) Pinterest business account here.

How to use Pinterest for business – the #1 thing you need to do

If you want to see Pinterest growth, there is one thing you MUST do:

FEED THE BEAST!

Pinterest is a hungry, hungry kitty and it needs fresh meat, er, fresh content.

What worked on Pinterest before, resharing the same popular pin over and over (I’m talking about in a non-spammy way to different boards) is NOT working as well now.

You can still share the same pin to multiple boards (saving time using Tailwind to schedule), but more sparingly, and with more time in between sharings.

What Pinterest wants now more than ever is FRESH CONTENT.

Fresh…aaaaah…

The Pinterest algorithm puts highest value on freshness because really, that’s what its users want.

It’s a much better user experience to have new content than to see the same pin over and over and over again.

But what counts as Pinterest fresh content?

Fresh content on Pinterest is a brand new image that has not been shared to Pinterest before.

This can mean a few things:

  • images for new blog posts
  • images for new pages
  • new product listings
  • new images for existing posts
  • brand new images for products
  • new images for existing pages.

Ultimately the goal is to get people to click on your images, bringing traffic to your website.

You want to work with the Pinterest algorithm to get more eyes on your images, so definitely allocate time to creating new images. It’s faster to make multiple images if you don’t have time to write more than one new post a week.

How to save time posting to Pinterest

To get serious about using Pinterest for business growth, the tool to have is Tailwind.

I was not one of the early adopters again (haha, that’s not my thing), but the first month I started using Tailwind, my traffic increased so much I applied and was accepted into one of the top ad networks, meaning more income for me!

You can use this link for a free trial, and  see how it works for you! Get Tailwind HERE.
