If you’re lucky enough to get to work at home in your jammies, this list of home office essentials is for you. These home office gifts will make your work-from-home office more organized, comfy, and beautiful.
If you’re lucky enough to work from home and have a home office, you probably know that the more organized (and beautiful) your space is, the more you want to go into it (and, ya know, get work done!)
As some of you know, we have a small 820 sf house, with 2 bedrooms.
There just isn’t space for me to have an entire home office, but I do have a home office nook in one of the rooms.
There are certain home office essentials that help me work better and keep me motivated.
As we’re coming up to this gift giving season, I’m sharing these home office gifts to help create a space at home you love to work in – whether that’s a spacious room or a simple nook like I have.

12 Pretty Home Office Gift Ideas
These 12 items will help create a more organized, peaceful, and healthy home office space.
The last two on this list are great for your physical and mental health!:

1. Practical Home Office Gifts for Safety: Paper Shredder
Until we’re entirely digital, most home offices with include physical papers with sensitive information.
There are lots of inexpensive shredders available that still do the work and shred like Tony Hawk. This one is streamlined for even small offices, and can shred credit cards too!
Shredders are still important for safely getting rid of any financial documents or other sensitive or confidential information.
2. Comfortable office chair
A comfortable home office chair is pretty darn important and something I have neglected in the past.
It’s SO important to sit properly at a desk with a chair.
Not on the couch or on the bed.
You don’t have to let go of wearing your pajamas, but your back will thank you if it gets to sit in a proper chair. I bought this one in pink a couple years ago (there are lots of colors available), and love it.
3. Affordable Home Office Gift: Desk Light
A beautiful desk light will save your eyes and reduce eye strain when the days get darker.
Didn’t your mama tell you not to read if it was too dark in the room?
I have already started sounding like my parents and using their phrases with my 3 year old so I’m storing up this one to use in her future lol.
4. Splurge Home Office Gift: A New Laptop
A laptop is most likely on any office essentials checklist.
I have always been a Windows user and am going to need a new laptop soon.
I surveyed a big group of female business owners to find out their recommendations for Mac and Windows laptops.
This one was the favorite among Mac users and this one won out for Windows users.
A third very popular option was this laptop which also gets frugal bonus points for being several hundred dollars cheaper.
5. Bluetooth Headset
This pretty pink Bluetooth headset is wireless, cutting down on clutter.
Perfect for podcasts, webinars, chats, interviews and of course listening to music and other stuff too!
6. Home Office Gifts to Organize Visual Clutter: Cord organizer
This cord organizer makes all the ugly power cords so much neater and tidier.
Especially helps if you’re prone to tripping over things (hand up over here).
7. Home Office Gift Idea to Protect Your Business from Data Loss: External hard drive
Back up your files! So important!
This is something probably most of us don’t do enough (I know I don’t but I’m trying to get better about it!).
Don’t rely on just your computer and the cloud and Geek Squad to get lost files back.
Also back up your work files to an external hard drive – this one is slim and powerful.
8. Charging Station Organizer
This charging station organizer will turn your tangled cords that look like a bunch of mating snakes into a neat and organized charging area.

9. Frugal Home Office Gifts: Organizing Containers
Folks, this just makes sense. Would you rather have your pens and paper and all your office paraphernalia strewn everywhere like your (okay, my) toddler’s toys?
Contain that clutter with some cute containers.
These containers are great because they come with labels and bamboo lids.
10. A Quality Pen
You know that feeling when you are writing with a pen that just has the perfect flow and point that it seems to make your handwriting better?
Being a frugal gal, I got by waaaay too long with free pens from businesses, hotels, etc. Those are fine too and I don’t knock free stuff when it’s for something useful but having a nice pen or two makes basic writing more pleasant.
This one was my friend’s idea – he bought me an awesome pink pen and I LOVE writing with it.
This is the gold standard quality pen brand, and they’re available in lots of different price points.
11. Massage Chair Back
This may seem to be a luxury item more than some of the other home office essentials, but would be SO awesome if someone was looking for home office gifts.
A friend of mine bought himself a chair back massager for his home office and he absolutely loves it.
It helps relax those back muscles that can tighten up after a long time of sitting.
Last year I was gifted one (by myself! lol) and I use it tons…this one (plus it has a fun/silly brand name).
12. SAD lamp: Thoughtful Home Office Gift for Mental Health
Many people don’t get enough sunlight in the winter months.
If you spend lots of time inside at your computer in your home office, chances are you might be lacking in sun.
Even if you don’t get full-blown SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), there’s a good chance your energy, mood, and productivity could use a boost in the winter months.
A SAD light on your office desk for 20-30 minutes every morning could make a positive difference for the rest of your day.

Home Office Essentials
It can be easy to neglect your workspace at home.
At times my workspace has consisted of sitting on the couch hunched over with my laptop in my lap.
NOT the best for my back!
I ended up paying the price when my back went out and I had to see the chiropractor several times.
It can be worth organizing your home office for your productivity, motivation, and also your body.
If you have a home office that you’d like to improve, with gift giving season coming up, you could always forward this to a loved one as a little hint. 🙂
Bonus Home Office Gifts:
1. Noise Canceling Headphones to muffle sounds while you’re working. You can use them with or without music.
2. An extra large coffee mug – you might as well make it a Venti since you’re saving money by having your coffee at home.
