When they started offering drinks from their secret menu through the Starbucks app this Fall, the one that caught my eye was the Pumpkin Matcha Latte.

I have tried many a matcha latte in my day, from all the little independent cafes, to other big chain versions of the green tea treat. I always come back to the Starbucks version – it is just the best.

For the smoothest latte, make sure to whisk your matcha really well before adding it to the pumpkin milk mixture.

A traditional bamboo whisk works beautifully (and is fun to use!), but a small milk frother will also give you that silky, café-style foam (this is the one I use – I’ve had it foreverrr).

When it comes to milk, oat milk and whole milk both create a super creamy base.

Almond milk or coconut milk add a nice flavor if you prefer those, but almond milk won’t be quite as creamy.

Don’t skip the real pumpkin purée — it gives this drink its authentic fall flavor (not just pumpkin spice).
