Homemade Gingerbread Latte Recipe
I celebrate the seasons of Starbucks.
There is Pumpkin Spice Latte season.
Lemon Cake Pop season.
And Gingerbread Latte Season.
But let’s face it…Starbucks is not exactly cheap.
So what’s a frugal blogger to do when she wants to save money but still enjoy all the holiday Starbucks treats?
Make homemade Starbucks copycat versions!
I’m still going to go to Starbucks because it is my happy place.
But I can also make this copycat latte as a way to save money on coffee.
This copycat gingerbread latte makes two lattes so you can share (or save one for later!).
Copycat Gingerbread Latte Ingredients
You only need four ingredients to make this yummy latte:
- milk (or any milk alternative)
- espresso (or strong brewed coffee)
- gingerbread syrup (this one is my favorite because it’s naturally flavored and colored!)
- ground nutmeg
I highly recommend topping with mini gingerbread men like these ones.
It makes this festive latte recipe even cuter, and gives you a yummy cookie to dunk in your gingerbread latte!
Here’s another popular gingerbread recipe: our holiday gingerbread scones – they are amazing!!
How to Make a Homemade Gingerbread Latte
The hardest part of this recipe is making the coffee. 🙂
If you can make coffee at home, this latte recipe is a snap.
If you have an espresso machine, you can use two shots of espresso (my favorite way).
If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can absolutely use strong coffee instead (it will still be delicious!)
For heating the milk, you have a few options:
You can either use your espresso machine to froth the milk, simply use your microwave to heat up the milk so it’s hot, or you can use a simple hand frother.
I have both this frother and this one. I’ll admit that I like the battery frother more – it’s faster and easier to make the lovely latte foam. It’s also super popular on Amazon; I’m not the only one who loves it.
You can make a sugar-free gingerbread latte at home by using this sugar-free syrup instead of the regular one.
Let’s make this easy gingerbread latte!
Another yummy cookie (other than gingerbread cookies!) that that would go well with this latte are these cinnamon raisin oatmeal cookies – my absolute favorite of all time oatmeal cookies.
