These Valentine pretzels would make great gifts in these little conversation heart treat boxes or these cute cellophane bags.

The best part is the sweet and salty combination of the salty pretzel with the sweet melted white chocolate or candy melts.

Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Pretzels: Ingredients

This simple Valentine’s Day chocolate recipe only uses 5 simple ingredients and you can customize it so many different ways.

Valentine's Day Pretzels ingredients

You need:

  • pretzels
  • pink candy melts
  • red candy melts
  • white candy melts
  • sprinkles

If you are making these delicious treats for someone (or yourself) who can’t have gluten, there are lots of yummy gluten-free pretzels brands available (I like these ones), so these can be gluten-free Valentine’s Day snacks.

For the white candy melts, you can also use pure white chocolate or white chocolate chips.

For Valentine’s sprinkles, these and these are my favorites for Valentine pretzel bites.

I found these awesome Valentine’s Day sprinkles that are dye-free if you have kids who are sensitive to food coloring.

Instead of Valentine sprinkles you could use conversation hearts stuck to the melted chocolate.

I like the conventional shaped pretzels because they have a heart shape, but you can use square pretzels if you’d like. Pretzel rods, pretzel twists, or pretzel sticks all work well too for these Valentine’s Day treats.

Valentine’s Day Pretzels Tips

One of my favorite things about these chocolate-topped pretzels is you can make this sweet treat ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Use a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl for each of the candy melt colors. Microwave at 20-second intervals until smooth, stirring between each interval.

Keep a close eye as you melt the chocolate because if it’s over-heated it can get clumpy instead of smooth.

After dipping in the melted chocolate or melted candy, let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl before you dip into the sprinkles.

Let dry on a baking sheet lined with either parchment paper or wax paper. Either one will ensure your yummy Valentine’s Day pretzels will not stick and will be easy to remove.

These Valentine’s pretzels keep well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.

Okay, let’s make these pretzel treats!
